Development of seismic hazard maps at the regional scale, based on the computation of complete synthetic seismograms and taking into account the seismic history, seismogenic potential and average structural properties of the medium in the region.
Map of horizontal acceleration obtained with the NDSHA approach considering the CPTI04 catalogue of historical earthquakes and the GNDT structural model. Seismic sources are distributed within the seismogenic zones defined in the ZS9 seismotectonic model. The source model adopted takes into account the rupturing process that occurs on a fault of finite dimensions. For a detailed description, see Model 3 in Panza et al., 2012, and references therein.
